I am Amanda Minor the baker behind Sweet Layers. I am an artist that found a new medium...cakes.
I have always loved baking from cookies to cakes to pies to "that looks good lets try it".
I didn't discover my love for custom cakes until my daughter asked me to make her birthday cake. My first thought was great, I will save some money. But when it was all said and done it has probably cost me more than saved me.
I had so much fun coming up with creating the design of her cake and soon found out putting my grand design from paper to cake was much different than painting on canvas and I loved it more. I loved it so much that I found myself excited when someone had a birthday coming up.
That is when I realized that I needed to stretch my arms and start making cakes and desserts for other people.
I soon realized that if I was going to start a business I had to add something else to the menu. So since I love baking I would do desserts but not just any desserts.
So Sweet Layers also specialize in entertainment type desserts. Desserts that are easy to handle and
are only a couple of bites but your guest will always come back for more.
